Hello, I'm Amila, and I come from the beautiful shores of Sri Lanka. I travel all around this island, and it gives me lots of ideas for my photography. I'm a software developer by job, but I really love taking pictures. Out of all the different kinds of photography, I like taking pictures of landscapes the most. I've been doing this for about ten years, and it has changed me a lot. I've gotten really good at turning ordinary things into amazing works of art. When I press the button on my camera, I'm not just taking a picture – I'm capturing a piece of my feelings about the world.
In 2019, I did something new by creating a website called landscapesphotographymagazine.com. I wanted to show off how amazing Sri Lankan landscapes are through photography.
I've developed my way of taking landscape photos in Sri Lanka. The island is so pretty, and I've spent a lot of time figuring out how to capture that beauty in my own way. One thing I really like to photograph is waterfalls. Sri Lanka has lots of waterfalls in its forests and valleys, and they're like precious jewels.
I am the first photographer in Sri Lanka to choose photos for the gallery named "World's Best Photographers and Artists". I've been able to include pictures of Sri Lankan landscapes in that gallery many times. It's a moment in my photography journey that fills me with great pride.
I've nominated the world's finest 200 photos for the daytime Landscape category in the 7th edition of the 35AWARDS.
I have been chosen for the best featured landscape photo multiple times in various international forums.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my photography journey has been the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse and international community. Over the past five years, I have joined hands with fellow photographers, artists, and enthusiasts from around the world. This collaborative spirit has not only enriched my craft but has also allowed me to see the world through a kaleidoscope of perspectives. Together, we have embarked on creative projects, shared insights, and celebrated the universal language of visual storytelling.
Each award I've earned is a testament to my photographic journey – a journey of passion, perseverance, and creative exploration. From capturing nature's fleeting beauty to freezing raw emotions in time, these awards mark the milestones of my growth as a photographer. Each accolade fuels my dedication and reminds me that through the lens, I can tell stories that resonate.
